ISNTP Achievement Award was introduced at ISNTP-12 (Otaru Hokkaido, Japan) to honor the life-long contribution in the field of ISNTP. The winners are listed below.
In his early carrier, he dedicated to unveil the back corona phenomina in electrostatic precipitation. In 1980s, he started to study pulse corona and packed-bed plasma reactor, which has been the prototype of plasma catalysis later in 2000s. His research interests extended to an extremely wide ranges not only the environmental applications of plasma but also weed control, single DNA molecule handling. He also has been consistently contributed to this community in many ways, for example stimulating young generation and sharing wonderful friendship with researchers over the world.
He has been leading the industrial applications of various plasma technologies such as exhaust gas cleaning from vehicles and industrial plants, plasma burner, and gas reforming. Many of these successful implementations of plasma technologies in various industry can be important milestone for further extension of plasmas in the future. He has been involved in hosting the ISNTP conferences two times in 2001 (ISNTP-3) and 2024 (ISNTP-13) Korea.
The first ISNTP Achievement Award was given to prof Gerard Touchard in ISNTP-12 for his life-long achievements and contributions in the field of flow electrification, electrohydrodynamic (EHD), and plasma actuator. He established the Electro-Fluid Dynamics group in the University of Poitier (France) in 1977 and led it as Head more than 30 years. He also established French Electrostatic Society in 1997 and contributed as Chairman. He has been one of core members of ISNTP conferences and organized the ISNTP-5 in 2006.
